How Ding King Started

Back in 1993, I got a dent in my car and took it to the body shop for a quote. I was told I would have to have the panel filled with bondo and re-painted and that it would take 5 days in the shop and cost me $800. I figured I’d first try to pop out that dent myself, as the thought of painting my brand new car made me sick to my stomach. So, I took out my Snap On screwdriver and wrapped the tip with lots of duct tape and tried to pop the dent out, all with no luck. My neighbor walked by and asked me what I was doing and and I told him and he just laughed and told me to put down the tool before I hurt myself and referred me to a PDR repair tech that he used to get a dent out of his car.

I had never heard of Paintless Dent Repair but I had nothing to lose so I made the call. He came by the next afternoon and I watched in absolute amazement as the dent was repaired flawlessly in less than 30 minutes. The best part, it only cost $175 and I didn’t have to re-paint my car. Upon telling the story to my dad and grand father, they suggested I research where I could learn the trade. I discovered a school that charged $25,000 to teach paintless dent repair and off I went. After attending a dent repair training program, I practiced for a few months and started working for local used car dealers and working with local car washes. The Ding King was born in September of 1993. Almost 30 years have passed, and I absolutely love going to work each and everyday. I’m passionate about what I do and love the expression on my customers faces as we transform their vehicle to showroom condition. My entire team of auto appearance technicians have a combined experience exceeding 100 years, and are all Certified in their chosen field of expertise.
